How CS 1.6 sensitivity works

Counter-Strike 1.6 runs on GoldSrc. It uses the classic m_yaw value of 0.022 degrees per count, so any other game on that scale takes the same number unchanged.

The formula behind this page is cm/360 = 914.4 ÷ (DPI × sens × 0.022). With 1.25 at 800 DPI that gives 41.6 cm for a full turn. You can check any setup with the cm/360 calculator.

CS 1.6 sens converter FAQ

How do I convert my sensitivity to Counter-Strike 1.6?

Pick your current game in “Convert from”, choose Counter-Strike 1.6 in “Convert to”, then type your sensitivity and DPI. The converter matches your 360° distance, so the same swipe turns you the same amount. For example, Valorant 0.4 is 1.27 in Counter-Strike 1.6 at the same DPI.

What is 1.25 CS 1.6 sens in Valorant?

A Counter-Strike 1.6 sensitivity of 1.25 equals 0.393 in Valorant when you use the same DPI in both games. At 800 DPI that is 41.6 cm per 360° turn.

What is a good sensitivity for Counter-Strike 1.6?

There is no single best value, but most players settle between 25 and 60 cm per 360°. In Counter-Strike 1.6 at 800 DPI that is a sensitivity of roughly 0.87 to 2.08. If you already aim well in another game, convert that sensitivity instead of starting from scratch.

Does changing DPI change my Counter-Strike 1.6 sensitivity?

Your real turn speed is DPI multiplied by sensitivity. If you double your DPI, halve your Counter-Strike 1.6 sensitivity to keep the same aim. Enter the new DPI in the converter and it does this for you.

Is Counter-Strike 1.6 sensitivity the same as Counter-Strike 2?

Yes. Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike 2, Apex Legends and CS:GO use the same sensitivity scale, so the same number gives the same 360° distance at the same DPI. Only field of view and scoped settings can make them feel different.
