Valorant eDPI

eDPI is your mouse DPI multiplied by your Valorant sensitivity. Enter both below to get yours, then read how to use it.

The formula

eDPI = mouse DPI × in-game sensitivity

How to calculate eDPI

  1. 1

    Find your mouse DPI

Check your mouse software or the sticker under the mouse. Common values are 400, 800, 1600 and 3200.

  2. 2

    Find your in-game sensitivity

Open the mouse settings in your game and note the sensitivity number exactly as shown.

  3. 3

    Multiply the two

eDPI = DPI × sensitivity. For games that show sensitivity as a percentage, such as Fortnite, divide the percentage by 100 first. The calculator above does it for you and also shows your cm/360.

Worked examples at 800 DPI

Valorant800 × 0.4
32040.8 cm/360
Counter-Strike 2800 × 1.25
100041.6 cm/360
Fortnite800 × 8%
6425.7 cm/360

The three setups have different eDPI but similar cm/360. That is why eDPI only compares players inside one game.

What is a good eDPI for Valorant?

DPI is how many counts your mouse reports for each inch it moves. Sensitivity is how far the game turns you for each count. Neither number means much alone: 400 DPI at sensitivity 2 is exactly as fast as 800 DPI at sensitivity 1. eDPI multiplies the two, so it describes your real turn speed in one figure.

In Valorant, a 360° distance of 30 to 60 cm works out to an eDPI of about 218 to 435. That is the range most players are comfortable in. Below it you need a very large pad, above it small corrections get twitchy. A typical setup of 800 DPI and 0.4 sensitivity is 320 eDPI, or 40.8 cm per turn.

eDPI only compares players inside one game. To move your aim to another game, use the Valorant sens converter, which matches your 360° distance instead. If you are switching mouse DPI, the DPI calculator gives you the new sensitivity.

Valorant eDPI FAQ

What is eDPI?

eDPI means effective dots per inch. It is your mouse DPI multiplied by your in-game sensitivity. Two players with the same eDPI in the same game turn at exactly the same speed, even if one uses 400 DPI and the other 1600.

How do I calculate my Valorant eDPI?

Multiply your mouse DPI by your in-game sensitivity. For example, 800 DPI with a Valorant sensitivity of 0.4 is 800 × 0.4 = 320 eDPI.

What is a good eDPI for Valorant?

Most players are comfortable between 30 and 60 cm per 360° turn. In Valorant that is an eDPI of roughly 218 to 435. Lower eDPI gives steadier aim, higher eDPI gives faster turns. Pick a value in that range and adjust in small steps.

Can I compare eDPI between different games?

No. Each game has its own sensitivity scale, so an eDPI of 280 in Valorant and 280 in CS2 are very different speeds. To compare across games use cm/360, or convert your sensitivity with the sens converter.

Is higher or lower eDPI better?

Neither is better on its own. A lower eDPI needs bigger arm movements and makes small corrections easier. A higher eDPI lets you turn quickly with your wrist but is harder to control. Choose the one that lets you track and flick consistently.

Does DPI matter if my eDPI stays the same?

For turn speed, no. 400 DPI at sensitivity 2 and 800 DPI at sensitivity 1 give the same eDPI and the same 360° distance. A higher DPI can make very small movements slightly smoother, and it also speeds up your cursor in menus and on the desktop.
